From Land to Legacy

As part of our ongoing commitment to real-world, meaningful learning, CSA students have begun work on a long-term project to transform the back acreage of our campus into a living, outdoor classroom.

Our high school students are leading the initial phase by mapping the property and studying the current ecosystem. Across all grade levels, students are beginning to explore the impact of invasive species and how they affect our local environment. This foundational work is helping us build a thoughtful, student-driven plan for the year ahead.

Ninth grade students created this entry video into the Shane McConkey EcoChallenge. The contest empowers young people to learn about environmental issues in their community, engage in critical thinking to identify innovative solutions, and take action as EcoChallengers for the planet.

Next school year, this project will become one of our school-wide anchor experiences as we shift our annual theme from Sustainability to Regeneration: From Land to Legacy. While sustainability focuses on maintaining what we have, regeneration challenges our students to restore, improve, and thoughtfully redesign natural systems for the future.

How YOU Can Help NOW

The freshman group working on Forest Health Monitoring would like to ask parents to donate leftover coffee grounds for tick mitigation, as well as wildflower seed packets. We are specifically looking for perennial mixes, but any flower packets would be greatly appreciated to help rehabilitate our local wildflowers.
