Community Experts - Volunteers

As Community Experts, your expertise and support are invaluable in enhancing the learning experiences of our students. To ensure the safety and security of everyone in our school, we kindly ask all volunteers to undergo a background check (Fee $6.00) through the Raptor website before volunteering. This process helps us maintain a safe and secure environment for our students and staff. Thank you for your cooperation and dedication to our school's mission.

School Supplies

Here is the basic supply list for 2024-2025 for students.

Transportation

Transportation to CSA-Xenia will be provided only if the direct travel time by yellow school bus from the public school building their children would attend to our 855 Lower Bellbrook facility is within 30 minutes. This is not a radius timeframe, but rather a direct travel time consideration. Each residential district makes this decision. Within this parameter, if the residential district chooses NOT to provide the transportation, families will receive reimbursement for transporting their student by filing the proper paperwork at the end of the school year. Each student seeking transportation will need to contact their residential public school district and request transportation services to our school building. Carpooling may be available based on your location. Please contact the Main Office for details.

Student - Parent Handbook

The CSA-Xenia Board of Trustees (School Board) has approved policies related to bullying, attendance, dress code, internet & technology use, mobile phones, student discipline, and other student activities. Be sure to read the Section 4 - Student-Parent Handbook of the Policy Manual of the Governing Authority of CSA-Xenia. Here is the entire Policy Manual of CSA-Xenia.

Drop Off / Pick-Up

Here is the updated 2024-25 Pickup Traffic Plan map showing the proper lanes for picking up students AND here is the 2024-25 Dropoff Traffic Plan map for dropping students off for school at 855 Lower Bellbrook.

In general, traffic will flow counterclockwise around the building with the Main Entrance being Door A.

For DROP OFF, ALL students will enter at Door F.

For PICK-UP, all bussed students will leave through Door A (Main Entrance). 6th-10th students will exit Door B along the backside of the building. 4th-5th students will leave through Door F once the vehicle identification number has been communicated to the interior staff.

School Lunch

CSA-Xenia participates in the National School Lunch Program including Free and Reduced Lunch for qualifying students. Find our letter about school lunch HERE. More information is also available on our FAQ page.

District Testing

As an independent, STEAM Designated, public school, we follow Ohio Revised Code 3301 on State Assessments. Our District Test Security Procedures ensure all involved that there are purposeful and specific procedures in place to ensure the security and accurate delivery and reporting of Community STEAM Academy-Xenia students’ state assessments. If you have any questions about this summary document, please contact us at 937-800-2720.

Here is a list of many Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about state testing.

ODEW Special Services Survey

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW) would like to invite you to participate in a short, 25 question survey about your involvement in your student’s education.  Research suggests that parental involvement is a key predictor of positive educational outcomes. You may be eligible to participate if your child has an IEP and receives special education services.  The purpose of collecting this information is to improve services for students with disabilities across Ohio.  If you are eligible to participate and you enroll in the study, you will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift card.  Your chance of winning a gift card is approximately 2.0%.  Please click on this link or use the QR (Quick Response) code (see below) to find out more about the survey and if you are eligible.

Sincerely,

David Julian, Ph.D.

Special Education Family Survey Director
