CSA Teachers Attend Ohio STEM Innovation Summit
The Ohio STEM Learning Network hosted the fifth annual Ohio STEM Innovation Summit in Columbus this week. Staff from CSA attended the sold out event. The day included professional development breakout sessions conducted by teachers and administrators from around the state.
A highlight of the day was the Hall of Inspiration, where educators showcased student projects and demonstrated the impact of hands-on learning. CSA’s own elementary teacher April Haddix highlighted the World Wide Arcade project completed by CSA students in grades 4-6.
Middle school teachers Susan Reeve and Lorraine Kendall presented an interactive Learning Lab session where participants experienced a series of quick, one-day activities that introduced and reinforced each stage of the design thinking process in fun, accessible ways. Educators gained practical, ready-to-implement lessons designed to strengthen students’ creativity, empathy, and problem-solving skills before engaging in more extensive project-based learning.
From engaging sessions to powerful conversations and hands-on experiences, CSA’s educators were able to collaborate and explore what’s possible in STEM and STEAM education.
