A New Chapter in the Heart of Xenia for CSA
After many years of planning and perseverance, the Community STE[A]M Academy is moving to 135 E. Church St. in Xenia for the upcoming school year!
What was once the heart of community activity as the former YMCA will soon continue its legacy as a vibrant center for learning, innovation, connection, and opportunity for students and families in southwest Ohio. Serving as the original planned location for CSA it is more than just a building - it allows CSA to grow and meet the needs of not only our students, but also the community.
“As I was working with my core team to build the original vision for CSA, we envisioned an intersection of education, commerce, workforce development, community engagement, and individualized learning as a cost-free opportunity for families across the Miami Valley,” said Dr. Jeremy Ervin, founder and CAO of CSA.
The Church Street campus positions CSA to dramatically expand these opportunities while also revitalizing a significant downtown Xenia property for the benefit of the entire region.
“As we shift our location to that of the original vision, we are excited to see the ways it can provide the ability to uphold the core values at the heart of our mission, including confident identity, effective communication, community service, dynamic movement, and creative expression,” Ervin shared.
This philosophy continues to focus on authentic, hands-on learning experiences connected directly to community needs and workforce readiness. Students demonstrate academic knowledge by creating solutions and applying them to real-world situations.
CSA is actively enrolling new students for grades 4-9. It is Ohio’s first independent public STEAM-designated, tuition-free public school of choice. This project-based, mastery-driven educational model for grades 4-12 plans to add a K-3 addition in the coming years. Visit commnunitysteam.com for information on enrollment.
As we prepare to open the doors to students Sept. 1, we look forward to creating new opportunities for students, families, and community partners to connect, collaborate, and grow together.
This new chapter is far more than a different building - it is the fulfillment of a long-held vision to place Community STE[A]M Academy in the center of the community we love and serve.
