Why CSA-Xenia Needs Your Support: A Message from Our Team

As a new independent STEAM-designated public school, Community STE(A)M Academy-Xenia (CSA-Xenia) is committed to providing high-quality education to our students. However, starting a new school is no easy feat, and we need the support of our community to achieve our goals.

While CSA-Xenia does receive funding from the state of Ohio through the instructional formula, these funds are provided when students are actually in their seats, and only cover the cost related to actual student instruction. There are many additional costs that come with starting a new school such as facilities, operations, marketing, and technology infrastructure. In particular, when a school is just starting out, there are often numerous expenses that must be covered before state funding becomes available. This is where donations come in.

One area where donations can make a significant difference is in acquiring equipment for our Makerspace. This is a space where students can work on hands-on projects that help them learn skills in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM). By donating funds to purchase equipment, our students can have access to cutting-edge tools and materials that will enhance their educational experience and provide them workforce skills that will prepare them to step into a 21st-century job.

In addition, donations are crucial for providing funding for our dynamic movement program. This program encourages students to be physically active and healthy while also learning about the importance of movement and exercise. By donating, you can help us purchase necessary equipment and hire instructors who will help our students stay active and engaged.

Funding is also needed for securing resources for day-to-day operations, including technology for our staff, furnishings, and furniture for our classrooms and common areas. These expenses can add up quickly, and donations can help us cover them without having to wait for state funding to be provided.

It's important to note that funding from the state can take time to be provided. This means that donations are essential for getting CSA-Xenia off the ground and providing our students with the best possible education from the very beginning. With your help, we can create a learning environment that is truly exceptional and provides our students with the resources they need to succeed.

Your donation can help to fund programs such as our STE(A)M curriculum, music and art classes, after-school programs, and unique student athletics offerings like competitive Jump Rope Team.

Join us April 22! 〰️

We are excited to invite you to our upcoming fundraising event, JUMP into Education Dinner, taking place on Saturday, April 22 at 5:30 pm at the Community STE(A)M Academy – Xenia, 135 East Church St. (former YMCA in Xenia building). Here is a flyer you can download.

We believe that quality education is the key to a better future for our community, and we are dedicated to providing our students with the innovative education they need to succeed. Your support is critical to our success, and we would be honored if you would consider purchasing a ticket to attend the JUMP into Education Dinner.

The evening will be filled with inspiration, motivation, delicious food, and a silent auction with unique and exciting items up for bid. All proceeds will go directly to supporting our mission of providing high-quality education that prepares our students for a successful future. Our keynote speaker, Shaun Hamilton, two-time US national titleist, 1999 World Champion from the International Rope Skipping Federation, and President of the International Jump Rope Union, will inspire us with his personal story of overcoming adversity and achieving success through hard work and determination.

Your generosity will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our students. Tickets are available for purchase on our website https://communitysteam.org/events/fundraiser-jump. Don’t delay, as the deadline to purchase tickets is Friday, April 7. If the dinner event on April 22 will not work with your schedule but you would like to support CSA-Xenia, please go to our JUMP PLEDGE page to join in our fundraising event.

Starting a new school is a challenging undertaking, but with the support of our community, we know we can achieve great things by creating Ohio’s first K-12 STEAM-designated school.

Sincerely,

The CSA-Xenia Team
