New First Day of School & Orientation Date
We are excited to welcome our students and families to the 2026–2027 school year and to begin this next chapter for Community STE(A)M Academy – Xenia at our originally planned location, 135 East Church St. (the former YMCA Xenia building).
As we continue preparing the facility, we have experienced construction delays that require us to adjust the beginning of our school year. After reviewing the construction timeline and the work necessary to prepare the building appropriately for our students and staff, the CSA-Xenia Board of Trustees has supported a revised opening schedule.
Important New Dates:
First Day of School: Monday, September 14, 2026
Orientation: Thursday, September 10, 2026 (5 pm – 8 pm)
Our previously scheduled two Orientation/Open House days will be combined into this one evening on September 10. We encourage all families and students to attend. Additional information about the evening's schedule and activities will be provided as we get closer to the date.
We recognize that changing the beginning of the school year may affect family schedules, childcare arrangements, and other plans. We sincerely appreciate your patience and flexibility as we complete the work necessary to welcome students into our new learning environment.
Although our first day is changing, we do not anticipate extending the school year past Friday, May 28. The Board will consider modifications to future days within the existing school calendar (specifically, the yellow marked, “Online Learning @ Home” days) to address the instructional time affected by the delayed opening. To clarify, we are not proposing to make changes to the typical Holidays/Breaks. We will communicate the updated calendar to families once those changes are formally approved.
We will continue providing updates between now and September 14, including information regarding Orientation, arrival and dismissal, transportation, meals, student schedules, and other first-day procedures.
